07U/03P.RUBY
Tropical Cyclone Ruby - Landfall in New Caledonia
From the Australian Region, Ruby moves to the SPac as expected. Currently threatening New Caledonia. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:12, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- Made landfall in New Caledonia yesterday (14 Dec), brought severe weather to that area but thankfully, zero fatalities so far. Ruby is still active, though JTWC already issued their final warning. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 15:28, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
January
03F/05P.CODY
99P.INVEST
This existed a few days ago, and is currently north of Fiji. 99P is expected to move erratically around the island by moving southwest and then southeast, during which it might become a named storm. Ryan1000 19:13, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Cyclone Cody
Now it's named Cody. It shouldn't get much stronger than it is now, but Cody might impact some small islands on his way south before becoming extratropical. Ryan1000 16:04, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- Apparently the first storm of the calendar year became stronger. On the Australian scale it is now a C3 with maximum winds of 130 kph (80 mph) and the pressure has gone down to 971 millibars, but on JTWC Cody apparently peaked at 95 kph only. It is now down to 85 kph (50 mph) now. As for Cody's effects, one fatality has been reported so far. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 12:03, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
91P.INVEST
New code yellow invest on JTWC. Neither the GFS or HWRF shows this going higher than a tropical storm. ☁️ Nerd (Have a conversation) (Inputs) 02:47, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- It seems that this is no longer on JTWC, Tidbits and NRL. Not sure if this is the same system as 05F though. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
04F.NONAME
Tropical Disturbance 04F
There was a disturbance last week, but it's now gone. Just putting this here for the record. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
05F.NONAME
Tropical Disturbance 05F
But there's a new one, and I am not sure if this is the same as 91P. Pressure at 999 hPa. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
97P/06F.NONAME
97P.INVEST
There's a new invest (97P) on tropical tidbits per the JTWC, but it isn't expected to become much as it heads south and moves over New Caledonia. Ryan1000 14:35, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Disturbance 06F
No longer on JTWC and Tidbits but it apparently became 06F. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 19:40, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Long gone. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 13:20, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

07F.NONAME
Tropical Disturbance 07F (16U)
This is the former 16U in the Australian Region. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 13:20, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Gone. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 12:13, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
08F/11P.DOVI
Tropical Disturbance 08F (18U)
Also moved from the Australian Region and re-designated as 08F by FMS. Code orange now on JTWC. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 12:13, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Depression 08F
And it has been upgraded by FMS to a TD. Code red on JTWC + TCFA issued. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 11:41, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- Forecast to steadily strengthen over the next several days as it moves south. Models indicate a threat to NZ from this system as an extratropical cyclone. JavaHurricane 13:22, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Cyclone Dovi
Upgraded to TS strength by both FMS and JTWC, JTWC and MFR (New Caledonia) expect a peak as a C1 after it skirts New Caledonia before turning EX as it heads for NZ. T3.0 latest from JTWC, based on a curved band pattern with sixth-tenths banding on the log-10 spiral. JavaHurricane 16:40, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Dovi will be bringing some rain to New Caledonia like 06F and 07F a short time ago, and Ruby earlier in the season, but it doesn't look like Dovi will get too strong while it skirts around the island. Most of the convection is currently north of the circulation. Ryan1000 17:57, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
Severe Tropical Cyclone Dovi
Now a severe TC per FMS. Cat 3 on the Australian scale, Cat 2 on JTWC. 10-min winds: 155 kph (100 mph); 1-min winds: 165 kph (105 mph); pressure: 960 mb. This is looking likely to become a very strong extratropical system once it reaches New Zealand, hopefully it won't be like (Ex-Tropical) Cyclone Bola for them. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:38, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
- Woah, Dovi jumped up rather quickly in intensity as it passed NC, and the circulation is quite big for its intensity. Dovi might be a threatening cyclone to New Zealand if this keeps up, not sure if it’ll be as bad as Bola 34 years prior but it’s definitely a storm to watch out for. Ryan1000 00:43, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Post-Tropical Cyclone Dovi
Dovi has become post-tropical as it nears New Zealand, hopefully the remnants aren't too severe for the country. Ryan1000 14:38, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
18P/09F.EVA (24U)
Tropical Disturbance 09F (94P/24U)
FMS declared this system as a tropical disturbance last Saturday (26th)... Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 13:30, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Depression 09F (94P/24U)
... and it has now slightly intensified to a TD. Winds not specified for now, but the pressure is at 999 millibars. Also designated as 94P by JTWC/NRL (and is currently code orange there) and 24U by BoM (it was in the Australian region before it moved to the SPac). Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 13:30, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Cyclone Eva
Became Eva per FMS. Winds: 65 kph/40 mph (10-min), 75 kph/45 mph (1-min); pressure: 995 mb. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 11:57, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
Post-Tropical Cyclone Eva
Dissipated yesterday. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 20:42, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
96P.INVEST
New invest according to JTWC. Low chance of formation/code yellow for now. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 12:06, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
- Now monitored by JTWC as a subtropical system. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 20:42, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
April
10F/23P.FILI
99P.INVEST
Significant model support. Over Vanuatu right now, trying to organise. NZ MetService has a high chance for formation, while JTWC could issue TCFA soon. Threat for New Caledonia. Models expect tropical cyclogenesis in 24-48 hrs. JavaHurricane 16:43, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Depression 10F
This is now a depression (a tropical storm by JTWC), and is expected to become a 75 mph cat 1 just west of Vanuatu, before moving near New Caledonia as a tropical storm. Ryan1000 11:08, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Tropical Cyclone Fili
Now a TC, and has been named Fili by FMS. Current maximum sustained winds: 100 kph/65 mph (1-min), 95 kph/60 mph (10-min); pressure at 983 mb. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 23:58, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Peaked at 110 kph/70 mph (10-min & 1-min), but is now down to 85 kph/50 mph (45 kts) on both measurements (used by FMS & JTWC). Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:20, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
Post-Tropical Cyclone Fili
Entered the NZ AoR and degenerated into an RL due to lack of convection, due to shear. Last advisories out now. JavaHurricane 16:23, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, Fili is already past its tropical status; FMS & BOM are already considering this as ex-Fili/ex-tropical cyclone Fili, while JTWC has considered this system as subtropical. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 00:17, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
May
11F/26P.GINA
Tropical Cyclone Gina
It looks like all 3 SHem basins (SWIO, AUS region, and SPac), had an off-season storm, as Gina just formed a short while ago and hit Vanuatu. Its probably gone now though. Ryan1000 15:05, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- I think Gina is still there, but is not expected to last longer. But this is kind of a rare feat for the Southern Hemisphere... all 3 SHem basins had off-season storms. Jas (Anonymous 2.0) (talk) 21:43, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
